SCRATCH NIGHT – Development Program for Emerging Local Writers

***** SECOND SHOW ADDED ON FRIDAY MARCH 10 at 7:30PM *****

The Wedge Performing Arts Centre and Wellington Women Writers proudly supports new local playwrights in this International Women’s Day ‘Scratch Night’.

SCRATCH NIGHT – a new development program which offers new and emerging artists from the Wellington Shire the opportunity to try out their freshest ideas and test them out in front of a live audience.

Over 8 weeks, the participants were invited into a supportive space to develop their craft and workshop material, ending in a brilliant showcase of comedy, drama and personal stories by the women of Wellington.

You will see exerts of both exciting new works and works in development, performed with scripts in hand.

Details:

As our first SCRATCH NIGHT of the year will be held on International Women’s Day all proceeds from the night will go to a local women’s charity (TBA). Further donations will be accepted on the night.

Free bubbles and nibbles will be provided.

Post show feedback and networking is strongly encouraged.

Warnings: Some extracts contain course language, adult themes, sexual references, references to death, discussions of sexual assault, abortions and eating disorders. But it’s still a fun night!
